Door Key in Virtual Environments: Interactive Object Unlocking

Let’s use the DoorKey function to lock an object with a key.

What is the key function?

You can set up the function to “unlock a locked door with the acquired key.”

When you obtain a key, a “key icon” and the number of keys you currently possess will be displayed above your head.

When you obtain a key that corresponds to a door,

Approaching a door that corresponds to the obtained key will unlock the door, and the object’s display will disappear.

When you obtain a key that does not match the locked door,

Approaching a door that does not correspond to the key you have will display an “X” mark on the keys you possess.

Setting up DoorKey:

Setting up the Key:

1. Select the object, then click on the location marked with a red circle. This will display a list of components.

2. Click on “DoorKey.”

3. Select “Key.”

4. Input the value to recognize the pair of the key and door into “Key Value.”

5. Click on “+” to add “Key Value.”

6. The added “Key Value” will appear in the dropdown.

7. Select the value of the added “Key Value.”

8. Key configuration is complete.

Setting up the Door:

1. Select the object, then click on the location marked with a red circle. This will display a list of components.

2. Click on “Door Key.”

3. Select “Door.”

4. Choose the value of “Key Value” that corresponds to the key pair from the dropdown menu.

5. Door configuration is complete.
