This week’s update covers the latest progress across the various platforms within the XANA ecosystem, including XANA App, XANA Browser, XANA Builder, XANA Web, and XANA NFT. Here’s a breakdown of the key updates and improvements:

XANA App

Key Highlights

  • iOS Memory Optimization: The team focused on optimizing the memory usage for iOS devices. This included profiling the memory, optimizing render textures, implementing memory-efficient texture algorithms, and releasing unused assets from memory. Multiple rounds of testing helped to identify and resolve untracked memory usage issues.
  • Unity 6 Migration: Significant progress was made on migrating the XANA project to Unity 6. Key tasks included resolving scripting issues, uncommenting code for editor tests, uploading bundles, and performing unit testing. Font rendering and Mono-scripting issues were also addressed.
  • Bug Fixes and Crash Resolutions: Several critical issues were resolved, including:
    • Avatars falling out of the world and blank screens after exiting and rejoining the Breaking Down world on iPhone 11.
    • The Mini Map stopping after exiting Freecam mode when another user joins a car in multiplayer.
    • Selfie Mode closing automatically when a second user joins a car in multiplayer.
  • Fusion and Crash Fixes: The team focused on resolving crashes and bugs related to Fusion, with a new build expected soon.

XANA Browser

  • Osaka Integration: The Osaka integration is moving forward with multiple bug fixes and improvements. Key updates include:
    • Car functionality was fixed after it caused application crashes.
    • Shader issues were resolved.
    • VTuber animations were added, enhancing the overall experience.
  • Multiplayer and Sync Issues: Efforts were made to fix issues related to car reconnection failures, multiplayer sync problems, and the Mini Map overlapping with the chat panel after car exit. There was also work done to address screen jerking during selfie mode and issues with multiple users joining the Giant Wheel simultaneously.
  • Voice Communication Update: The voice communication feature is under development and will be prioritized in the next sprint to ensure smooth user interaction during multiplayer sessions.
  • R&D for Emoticons: The team began researching how to enable emoticons in chat for the WebGL version, which will be a valuable addition to the user interaction features.

XANA Builder

Key Highlights

  • New Gamification Components: The team has been integrating new dynamic challenges, such as Wind Fans and Gravity Tricks, to enhance the gameplay. The Icey and Slippery Floor feature was also added, providing unique gameplay mechanics.
  • Asset Creation: The 3D team has been tasked with creating realistic assets for the game. These assets will be integrated once completed.
  • UI and Controls: The team worked on improving user experience by optimizing the user interface and controls, making sure that the interactions within the Builder are intuitive and responsive.

XANA Web

Key Highlights

  • Staking Cycle 57: The reward distribution for Staking Cycle 57 is on hold due to ongoing chain maintenance. Once completed, the rewards will be distributed to users.
  • Minor Fixes and Features: The team worked on resolving several minor bugs. This ensured smoother functionality and a more stable experience across the web platform.

XANA NFT

Key Highlights

  • Crypto Ninja Genesis Card Free mint: The free mint for the Crypto Ninja Genesis Cards was completed successfully. The task is now in the testing phase before going live.
  • Bug Fixes: Several bugs were fixed. These improvements contribute to smoother operation and better user experience.
